After being postponed due to the 2020 pandemic, the Toronto Blue Jays finally had the opportunity to activate their first Marvel Super Hero™ Day in 2022.

On September 17th, 2022, the Toronto Blue Jays hosted their first Marvel Super Hero™ Day presented by Toys “R” Us. This one of a kind activation featured,

– An exclusive co-branded Spider-Man bobblehead giveaway to the first 15,000 fans in attendance.

– The day also featured Marvel character appearances, Marvel themed games, and photo opportunities.

MSHD Attendance Stats

The Marvel Super Hero™ Day activation drew 44,448 fans, resulting in a 39% increase in attendance over average (avg. 31,924 / 11th in MLB), vs division rival Baltimore Orioles (Highest attended game vs Baltimore on the season)

– The event was the the 4th highest attended Saturday game of the season and provided an 11% increase over average for a Saturday game (avg. 39,946). It was also the 6th highest attended game of season overall at the time.

– In comparison to other Blue Jays giveaway games, the Spider-Man bobblehead was 30% higher than average for a giveaway game (avg. 34,283). It was the 5th highest attended game with a giveaway, and the 2nd highest attended game with a bobblehead giveaway (1st 8/13 vs Cleveland “Victory Vlad” bobblehead).

– The game was 69% higher than comparable 2019 September Saturday game vs. division rival (Saturday 9/14 vs Yankees, att. 26,308)
