The Inspiration

– On May 3rd 2021, the Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans participated in Marvel’s Arena of Heroes in conjunction with ESPN. A first of its kind event that featured 3 players from each team being turned into their own Super Heroes, for a chance to join the Avengers.

– After a long fought battle that featured “Hero Points” for every basket, assist, steal, and rebound, Draymond Green came out on top and was crowned Marvel’s first Arena of Heroes Champion!

Golden State Warriors Custom Comic Book Giveaway

– In order to help celebrate the crowning of Draymond Green as Marvel’s first Arena of Heroes Champion, the Warriors collaborated with Marvel to create a one-of-a-kind custom comic book that featured the origin story of Draymond Green’s Hero “The Warrior”.

– The comic book was given as an all-fan giveaway on February 16th, 2022 as the Warriors took on the Denver Nuggets!

Marvel Super Hero Day Stats

– The event drew over 18,000 fans and produced a sell-out on a Wednesday night right before the All-Star break

– The game was tied for the highest attended game of the of the season at the time of the event

– The game was also tied for the highest attended Wednesday night game of the season at the time of the event
