Mariano Rivera in the spirit of Captain America Bobblehead

– On July 12th, 2019 the New York Yankees teamed up with Marvel to execute their first Marvel Super Hero™ Day. The event featured a one-of-a kind Marvel bobblehead featuring Mariano Rivera in the spirit of Captain America
– The event led up to Mariano Rivera’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony on July 21st, 2019
– The bobblehead was given to the first 18,000 fans in attendance

– Highest reported attendance of 2019 at time of the event in June
– Game produced a sell out on a Friday vs Toronto
– More than 20k fans in one hour before first pitch (typical is 10k-12k at first pitch)
– Game was sponsored by Delta
– Vendors ran out of food in some places as early as the 2nd inning
– Mariano bobble was sent to Cooperstown to be included in his Hall of Fame display
