CUSTOM MARVEL PLAYER BOBBLEHEAD

The Washington Nationals teamed up with Marvel to create an extensive program that included many different elements.

2019

Washington Nationals Marvel Super Hero Day 2019

– In 2019, the Washington Nationals held their first Marvel Super Hero Day and used it to honor long-time Nationals captain, Ryan Zimmerman

– Zimmerman was featured in the spirit of Captain America as a limited edition bobblehead and given the name “Captain Zimmerman”

– The event featured concourse activations, pre-game activities and elements, and a retail program

2019

– First 10,000 fans received a “Captain Zimmerman” bobblehead upon entry

– 35 of the 10,000 were signed by Ryan Zimmerman and given away to 35 lucky fans

– Nationals filmed him signing the bobbleheads and added a Marvel element to help promote on social and in-game the day before to help push the giveaway

Nationals had multiple concourse activations going on during pregame activities

– DJ Stylus Chris and DJ Alkimist playing Marvel-themed music in Centerfield Plaza and Budweiser Terrace

– Canvas Muralist in Centerfield Plaza

– Face painters and caricature artists in family picnic area

– Marvel-themed photo booth

– Unsung Heroes Contest- People in the community honored for what makes them a Hero (starting a foundation for kids cancer, volunteering in the community)

2022

Marvel Super Hero Day 2022

– On June 11th 2022, the Washington Nationals hosted their second Marvel Super Hero™ Day. This elaborate program featured:

– Exclusive The Unstoppable Josh Bell Marvel bobblehead giveaway for the first 10,000 fans in attendance
– Marvel-approved air brush artist*
– Marvel-themed music played by DJ
– Marvel-themed photo booth with props*
– Marvel-themed face painting*

Marvel Super Hero Day Attendance Stats

At the time of the event, the Nationals were averaging 20,900 fans per game

The Marvel Super Hero™ activation drew 25,265 fans, resulting in a 21 percent increase in attendance over average on a Saturday afternoon vs the Milwaukee Brewers

The game was the 8th highest attended game of the season overall, and 3rd highest attended Saturday game of the season at the time

Attendance for the game was 25 percent higher than the previous bobblehead giveaway on Saturday 5/28/22 (att. 20,295)
